Hollywood District Homes for Sale NE Portland
Founded in 1907 as part of the Rose City Park neighborhood, the Hollywood District is a mixed-use commercial and residential area just north of the Banfield Expressway. The neighborhood got its name from the historic Hollywood Theatre still in operation in the neighborhood. Built in 1926, the Hollywood Theatre is one of Portland’s most prominent independent theaters and is currently listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

To citizens living outside of the Hollywood District, this neighborhood serves primarily as a shopping area and a home to several entertainment venues. But the community is filled with beautiful older homes in a comfortable urban setting. The streets are lined with beautiful trees, and sidewalks are well-trafficked by neighborhood kids.
The Hollywood District is also home to the Hollywood Farmer’s Market, one of the best open-air markets to be found in Portland. Grant Park and Grant Pool are easily accessible to this area, which sits inside Portland Public School boundaries. A community group called the “Hollywood Boosters” puts on a monthly neighborhood event called “Hollywood at Night” and brings out residents to local businesses for a night of fun and entertainment. With service from Trimet bus lines as well as the MAX light rail, the Hollywood District is a versatile neighborhood making it easy to get around Portland, and even easier to stay close to home.
